“See caring ministry as Incarnational.” – H.B. London
The mind-numbing monotony of our daily chores can sometimes make tackling our Monday mornings feel like making the harrowing climb to the peak of Mt. Everest. The key is to find deep meaning in all we do – even the small stuff. In other words, we need to view daily service as Incarnational ministry.
Jesus put on human flesh and walked the earth for thirty-three years. During that time, He served others with a glad heart (He cooked fish for His disciples, and even washed their feet!). When we serve others gladly, no matter how mundane the task, we reveal the presence of Christ to a world in need.
Jesus alluded to this Himself when He said, “To the extent you served one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me” (Matthew 25:40).
So tackle your Monday chores with joy today…imagine each person you serve as Jesus Himself, and strive to care for Him with the same excellence and love with which He cares for you.
