A piece of flash fiction using only 4-23 words? It sounds crazy, but this is exactly what our judge over at Christian Flash Weekly has challenged us to do, using the Scripture below as inspiration.
I love the way the Bible uses the image of the bride to represent the way God views the church, and had this beautiful parallel in the back of my mind as I put this one to paper.
Happy Friday!
Scripture Prompt:
“Guard your heart above all else, for it is the source of life.” – Proverbs 4:23

The Greatest Gift
As wedding bells chimed, she floated down the aisle.
She took his hand, and offered him the greatest wedding gift.
Her whole heart.
