About 16 months ago, my wife and I got “the call” from CPS, letting us know that there were two children in need of a foster home. After months of training and working to become licensed foster parents, this was the moment we had been praying for. It was love at first sight for us, and words cannot describe the beautiful memories we’ve made over the past 16 months, as the four of us have truly become a family.
Now, I am thrilled to announce that the adoption paperwork has been signed! In a few weeks, we’ll appear before a judge and become the forever parents of these two amazing kids. When I stop and think about all the Lord has protected them from, and the way He has carried us through the ups and downs of this entire process, I cannot help but stand in awe of the way He has brought our family together. For each of you who has followed this blog and prayed for us along the way – thank you! God has done great things for our family, and He has absolutely answered your prayers!
As we look forward to our Adoption Day, which is sure to be one of my favorite anniversaries, I’m also filled with gratitude about the way God the Father has adopted all those place their faith in Christ into His eternal family. We were lost and on our own, and through the cross He welcomed us in with open arms, making us fellow heirs with Christ. What an incredible thought – and what joy this brings!
“The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ.”
Romans 8:16-17
What a blessing! Thanks for sharing your joy with us!

Praise the Lord and thank you for the wonderful thing you’re doing by adopting these to children. My daughter has adopted two Guatemalan children and although they were adopted at birth and were never in foster care, it has been an amazing thing that she and her husband did for these two boys who were born into abject poverty and destined to live hungry and in squalor. God is soooooo good and I know He has chosen you to parent these two for a reason. Blessings, Natalie 🙂 ❤

How absolutely wonderful! It’s a blessing all around, I’m certain! Many prayers for you as you anxiously await the official day of adoption and for the coming weeks and months and years of continued bonding as a family.
We’ve got our own two amazing foster babies, filling up our hearts and our home. At this stage in the game, we aren’t sure if these two will be keepers for our family or if someday we’ll have to return them to their biological family. I think I’d much rather the first out of those two options!
