Why Am I Wasting Time on This Blog, Anyway?

Hasn’t every blogger asked themself this question at one time or another? As life gets busier and managing your blog becomes more and more demanding, you might begin to wonder if it’s really worth the effort.

Is anyone really reading this stuff? Am I really making a difference?

Be Encouraged Today!

If these thoughts are swirling inside your head, let me encourage you with this. Before you hit the “Publish” button with each new article or post, remind yourself that if just one person reads it and walks away feeling uplifted or inspired, then you’ve made a difference.

And that, my friends, is absolutely worth it.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Waves Around Starfish

The Starfish Story

by Loren Eiseley

A young man is walking along the ocean and sees a beach on which thousands and thousandsof starfish have washed ashore. Further along he sees an old man, walking slowly and

stooping often, picking up one starfish after another and tossing each one gently into the ocean.

“Why are you throwing starfish into the ocean?” he asks.

“Because the sun is up and the tide is going out and if I don’t throw them further in they will die.”

“But, old man, don’t you realize there are miles and miles of beach and starfish all along it! You can’t possibly save them all.  You can’t even save one-tenth of them! In fact, even if you work all day, your efforts won’t make any difference at all.”

The old man listened calmly and then bent down to pick up another starfish and threw it into the sea.

“It made a difference to that one.”

Philippians 1:6

“Being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion.”

  1. Francis Bacon nailed what blogging does for me in his famous quote:
“Reading maketh a full man; conference (conversation/speaking) a ready man; and writing an exact man.”
    ― Francis Bacon

I want to share something that blesses others, but even if no one reads it, I’m still enriched by the process of trying to find the truth that can transform my own heart.

    You’re right, it’s worth it 😉

  2. Thanks for putting this into words, for everyone out there to read. It seems I wasn’t the only one who needed this, right now, right this way (judging from the comments). Thanks! 🙂
