“Calm After the Storm” – An Original Shape Poem

Boat on Still Water

April 2014 was my first attempt at the A to Z Blogging Challenge.  My brain is fried after juggling Easter services, final papers and exams, and daily blog entries, but I’m so glad I was able to finish strong and make it all the way to Letter Z!

Thanks to everyone who has walked down this road with me this past month.  I’ve appreciated your helpful thoughts and encouraging comments more than you know.  And now that the flurry of activity is over, we can sit back, relax, and enjoy the calm that inevitably comes after any storm.

Below is a shape poem I wrote in high school.  May it remind us that no wave is too tumultuous – and no storm too fierce – for the Lord to completely tame with a single word.

  1. I really loved this!!! And congrats on surviving A to Z… I am three letters shy and it’s now May. I’m contemplating whether I should try to finish them or not! It was so much harder than I anticipated, and I knew it would be hard.

    1. I definitely think you should finish the alphabet – it will be worth it to say you’re an official survivor of the challenge, and you’ll feel a great sense of accomplishment. Don’t give up!
