In our latest contest, The Artistic Christian challenged amateur photographers to take out their cameras and take a snapshot that somehow captured the Love of God. Some very thoughtful pictures were turned in, and I want to thank everyone who entered the contest!
Of course, it’s not too late to share! If you’ve posted a blog with a picture that relates to God’s Love, then leave a comment with a link to your blog post or simply attach a link to this page within your post so we can all hop over and take a look!
Here are the four finalists:
Symbol of Eternity – 3rd Runner Up
Submitted by: Erika Jones – Grand Prairie, TX
“I was at the park the other day, and was just amazed at how many families had gathered to gaze at the beautiful ducks. It was as if God was using them to bring families together, and I was reminded that in some cultures, ducks are symbols of freedom and eternity since they are able to leave earth and fly into the heavens. Here was a real-life example of the way they draw our eyes to something bigger than ourselves.”
Dad’s Hands – 2nd Runner Up
Submitted by: Angel Pina – Dallas, TX
“The greatest show of God’s love for me, besides the work of Christ, is when He gave me a family. I grew up from a broken home, so as a kid, the biggest thing that I always wanted to have was a family of my own, so when God brought my wife to me and we started to have our children, I became overwhelmed by the reality of God’s answer to my prayer.”
Invited In – 1st Runner Up
Submitted by: Becky Hernandez – Crowley, TX
“I chose this picture because one of my ministries is to help feed, pass out clothes and visit with the homeless. The picture is taken of one of the communities that is located under a bridge. The cardboard boxes, which some call home, is made of materials that are discarded and not thought of again by other people. This is how some of the people we visit with feel like. Their stories sometimes give us more than what we give them. They remind us of the reality of how life can change from one day to the next.”

“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’” Matthew 25:37-40
Serving Hearts – Grand Prize Winner
Submitted by: Alvin Wells – Calvert, TX
“This picture is the result of answered prayers. The Ministers Alliance, which God led me to organize three years ago, has one Pastor that had a vision. A vision to bring a mobile food pantry to our town. A pantry that is feeding the young and elderly from all races here. God’s love bringing a town closer together like never before. People seeing God’s love and experiencing His love as well. God is moving in the small central Texas town, and I am glad to be His servant.”
Thanks again to everyone who participated – it has been refreshing to view the world through your eyes!
